I'm Gonna Go Through This One More Time...

Let me go through some of Obama's policies and see if I can make sense of them and what the consequences for the country are going to be...

Obama's Tax Policy:
Obama wants to raise taxes on business that make $250,000 a year. Senator Obama claims that this is somehow a very small number of businesses. I don't want to spend a lot of time on that, but seriously, how can that be possible? Can anyone name me one place of business that they have ever been to in thier entire life that they think does NOT take in $250,000 in a year? How could a business even afford to put product on the shelves if its not taking in that much?

Okay, so he's gonna raise taxes on businesses. He's also going to raise taxes on individuals who make more than $200,000 in a year. What? You thought that was 250K too? Wrong, a recent ad I saw with Obama himself outlining his plan says 200K a year.

Some might say both of those group deserve to have thier taxes raised. Okay. Picture a doctor. He's worked and studied for much of his life to get where they are. He has his own office and a few employees. He works in New York City and makes 260K (obviously his practice takes in at least that much as well). So now, this doctor, who has never done anything to hurt you and is not responsible for your economic condition is going to get "dinged" twice by Obama. First his personal income is going to get hit, and then his business is going to get hit. Can no one see how this might cause him to struggle paying for his rent, school loans, medical insurance? Can no one see how taxing this "small" business might cause him to lay off his secretary or one of his nurses or whoever?

I guess not. I guess we're all too focused on hating "rich" people and worried about our potential $100 "rebate" check... as if $100 bucks is really going to make our lives that much better.

Obama wants to give 95% of Americans a tax "cut". Okay, first things first. The top 50% of wage earners pay 96% of the federal income taxes. So tell me, how is it really possible to give 95% of wage earners a tax cut? Answer, he's going to give us a "rebate" check from our Social Security payments. Hmmm... so he's going to bankrupt social security even more? Or maybe the rich people will just have to pay higher social security taxes too?

OH wait. I almost forgot. Obama wants to let the Bush tax cuts expire. I know, many of you think that those tax cuts were only for the super rich. Wrong. I remember when they first got them both my parents and many, many other people I knew got a tax cut too. So... basically, Obama and the Democrat Congress are going to let our taxes be raised. So much for our tax "rebate".

Obama's Health Care Plans:
As I understand it, for those of us who are paying for our healthcare, we get to just keep it. But for those people who aren't paying their own way... the Federal Government is just going to give them the same coverage that Congress gets. What? Why should I keep paying for mine then ifyour just going to start giving stuff away? How many trillions is that going to cose Senator Obama? Someone please, please explain to me how this is going to lower costs for anyone.

Obama, the Supreme Court, and extreme liberalism:
Here's a 2001 qoute about the Supreme Court: "If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to invest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples so that, uh, I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order and -- and as long as I could pay for it I'd be okay. But the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society."

What?! So Senator Obama, as President, wants the Supreme Court to venture into isues of redistributive wealth and economic justice? What?! Here's another qoute from Obama in 2001 on the same program: "that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. It says what the states can't do to you, says what the federal government can't do to you. But it doesn't say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf"

What the federal government "must" do on my behalf? What?! What are we even talking about. Hey maybe the federal government should be forced to buy all my food, clothes, and other essentials, pay for everything, find me a good job that I like and take care of my kids too. Maybe thats the future Obama wants.

Thats not America. Thats not even Mexico...

The Pre-Election/Selection Predictions...

Okay. What I'm going to try and do here is make a lot of predictions about the election, the aftermath of it, and maybe even a few things a few years down the road.

Prediction #1: Obama Wins the Election!
Yes, it's true, it's true... It's so very true. I am predicting that Obama wins the election. Why? Is it because he is just sooooo awesome? No. Its because John McCain can't be helped. He'll say something that will thrill us like coming down hard on earmarks... and then he'll vote for an $850 Bailout Bill. He'll come down hard on the Democrats and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac... and then he'll endorse a plan for the federal government to buy up bad mortgages. Does the federal government have no limits anymore?

Anyways... Obama. Will. Win.

Prediction #2: The Crisis is Over!
Has anyone, anyone at all noticed that over the last 8 years that everything is a crisis? Like... an end of the world crisis? Global Warming. Rising Gas Prices. Homelessness/Poverty. Mean Spiritedness.
After the election of Obama I predict that suddenly, all of these crisis just won't be that big a deal anymore. Before Obama even does anything, maybe even before he really takes office, things will automatically become better. Global Warming will no longer be a worldwide crisis that will kill us all in ten years. We'll begin to see stories about hot the environment may have actually cooled slightly and the ice caps are no longer the pressing ecological disaster they've been during the Bush Presidency. Gas prices, while they may rise, will no longer be an all encompassing economic crisis for America. They will just become another price of doing business. Again, before Obama really even does anything we will stop getting stories about how this is the worst economy since the Great Depression. Do you realize how many times I've heard news agencies and politicians say that in the last 8 years? Do these people realize that these days "poor" people have cell phones and iPods? The inflated news stories about poverty and homelessness will quickly go away, again despite nothing have actually changed yet.

Prediction 3: Americas Standing in the World Will Rise!
Again, how many times over the last 8 years have we heard our standing has diminished? Excuse me, but there are still millions and millions of people who would LOVE to come here and who are trying to get in, so I don't know what their talking about. But, I guarantee that suddenly, again before Obama does anything and perhaps before he is even in Office, suddenly our "standing" will begin to rise and we will start seeing politicians on TV and news agencies talking about how people love America again.

Prediction 4: Everything Obama Does Will Be a Great Move!
Oh yes, every decision he makes, from the people he chooses to be in his Administration, to the way he gets inaugurated will be GREAT in the eyes of the mainstream media. Even if he chooses the same jerks and idiots that have run the Democratic Party for the last 20 years... somehow it will be a change and they will be fantastic picks.
Also, every new issue that does come up, Obama will be seen as handling it well. The blame will never be his. Somehow, hurricanes are President Bush's fault. Snowstorms, global warming, the credit crisis, puppies dying... everything is Bush's fault. But when Obama is President it will always be someone Else's fault and his leadership will always be seen as steady and even handed. 4 Hurricanes strike Florida in one year causing untold damage? Obama's leadership, despite the fact that he might not even do anything, will be seen as steady and strong.
Every move his government makes, no matter the terrible consequences it reeks down the road, will be seen as great. The consequences that do come while Obama is still be President will never be seen as his fault, it will always be because somehow the plan wasn't implemented properly by someone else... never Obama.

Prediction 5: Your Tax Cut is Toast!
What? Obama says he's going to give a tax break to 90% of Americans? Well, ignoring the fact that thats impossible, not only will it not happen but we will ALL get a tax HIKE. What? Obama says he's only going to raise taxes on the people or businesses who make $250,000? Ha, fat chance.
This whole thing is very Clinonesque of Obama. Clinton did the same thing when he ran the first time. Promised a middle class tax cut... and then his administration and Democrat Congress passed the largest tax increase in American History. It will happen again. I don't know what the reason will be. Obama may need to fund the $800 billion bailout bill he voted for, or pay for college education for everyone, or try to create 5 million new "green" jobs. But whatever the reason, your tax break is gone. Say hello to your tax increase. But, to go along with prediction 4, it will somehow be seen as "good" for the country and "necessary" in these troubled times.

Prediction 6: If McCain Wins, almost the opposite of everything I just predicted above will happen!
What I'm saying is that if Conservatives somehow manage to drag McCain over the finish line to victory than nothing, and I mean NOTHING, will be good in the eyes of the media. Ever.
The Crisis Will Continue. Ever little that happens will be a crisis and it will be John McCain's fault. Global Warming will somehow accelerate and kill us all that much faster. Our Standing in the World will drop even farther. Talk of a possible "recession" despite no actual quarters of the economy shrinking will escalate to a full blown depression, before McCain even does anything. Story after story about the homeless problem will suddenly appear in even greater numbers. Story after story will be written about how hateful America is and how thats the reason Obama lost. Of course it won't have anything to do with his extreme liberalism. Every move he makes will be a mistake. Oh... and your tax break is still toast because McCain will be so anxious to "work" across the aisle that any and all tax breaks will go out the window. Again, say hello to your tax increase.

There, I said it. I wrote down my predictions. I dare you to write down yours.

This is EXACTLY Why John McCain Will NOT Get My Vote, and NEVER Get Elected President...

Soooooo, what in the world is happening? Lets see if I can remember what we're doing. Bear Stearns crumbled and the government arranged some kind of sale for them. It wasn't a bailout exactly. The government helped to arrange a buyer. Then Lehman Brothers went under and the government chose to not bail them out. Fine. Banks making irresponsible loans without having enough capital shouldn't be bailed out. John McCain agreed with the decision to not bail them out. Fine.

Then AIG blows up and the government goes and bails them out. John McCain somehow agrees with them. Insane. Now the Federal Reserve comes up with this insane idea to spend 700 BILLION dollars to provide liquidity to the financial markets. I'm not even going to get started on that.

But John McCain has essentially made cutting spending a huge part of his campaign. He stood there in a debate with Obama and said he would veto every bill that came across his desk that had earmarks in it and said he would make them famous and we would know who was asking for these earmarks.

And then... John McCain goes and votes for a bill that started at 700 Billion dollars... and exited the Senate at $850 Billion. Hmmm.... that sounds like there's $150 Billion dollars worth of earmarks. There's tax breaks for Hollywood, theirs spending for the environment, and all kinds of crap in this thing. John McCain didn't say a WORD about it all. This is why conservatives don't trust him, this is why Republicans don't get fired up over him, and this why he will LOSE in November.

So Much for Not Giving in to Bailouts...

US SEIZES CONTROL OF AIG WITH 85 BILLION DOLLAR LOAN

I guess it really was too much to ask to believe that the Federal Government could avoid bailing out another company, despite its recent decision not to bail out Lehman Bros. Lets see, so far this year they helped arrange a huge loan to Bear Stearns, took over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, and now have basically bought AIG. Whats next? Auto Companies.

I know our American Auto Companies are struggling. But the fact is that overseas they are doing very well. Ford is selling great in Europe, GM is selling great in China and a bunch of other places. The problem is here in America. Whats the difference? Here in America the Federal Government tries to tell them what cars they have to make instead of letting them build the cars that people want. They also made bad decisions regarding how they pay their employees, but the main point is that the federal government tells them what they can and can't do with its control over mileage standards and the recent raising of those standards causing the car companies to re-tool their factories and cars at a very high cost. So whats the answer? Apparently its a $50 billion loan to the car companies.

Let me tell you how to save Detroit and $50 billion. Just Get Out of The Way. Stop trying to tell them what they can and can't do and just let them build what poeple will buy. Here's an example. Ford has a diesel engine car in Europe that gets 65 MPG. Where is it in America? No where. Ford is planning on selling a regular gasoline version here in the USA, but it won't get as good gas mileage and they can't afford to sell the diesel version because of restrictions placed on such cars by the ... federal government. I'm sure it is tempting for the Auto Companies to want this money, but heres the thing. Once the federal government "loans" you $50 billion dollars... they are going to expect you to do whatever they want, no matter how bad for business it might be.

We gonna tax those evil rich to buy you a Toaster!

BIDEN: Our tax plan would take that tax cut of another $130 billion that John wants to give to people making over $250,000 next year, not let it go forward and give it to the middle class, the very people who desperately need it to stay in their homes, to buy food, to take care of the gas to fill up their tank, to be able to go out and buy a toaster, to unemployed people.

OOOOkay. So, Obama's plan is to tax "rich" people and "give" the money to the middle class so that they can buy a toaster. Riiiight. I have a better idea. Lets not increase taxes on anyone. People need money for gas? Why don't we try and get some sort of sane energy policy so that we can GET MORE ENERGY. People need money for food? Why don't we stop encouraging fuel companies to put ethanol in our gasoline which has caused the price of food to rise dramatically? Your just gonna give unemployed people money? Why don't we try to have some policies that will encourage economic growth so that those people will get jobs?

Doesn't that sound better than the Obama proposed all-encompassing plan of taxing the rich? That is their whole plan. People need health care? Tax the rich. People need houses? Tax the rich. Gas is too expensive? Tax Exxon (someone explain to me how thats going to lower gas prices?). People don't have jobs? Tax the rich and just give them some money.

The Ad Sen. Obama Does NOT Want You to See...

Barrack Obama doesn't want anyone to see or hear this ad and is going to great lengths to prevent it, as this story in the AP shows.

Obama seeks to silence ad tying him to 60s radical

DENVER (AP) - Barack Obama is striking back fiercely and swiftly to stamp out an ad that links him to a 1960s radical, eager to demonstrate a far more aggressive response to attacks than John Kerry did when faced with the 2004 "Swift Boat" campaign.

Obama not only aired a response ad to the spot linking him to William Ayers, but he sought to block stations the commercial by warning station managers and asking the Justice Department to intervene. The campaign also planned to compel advertisers to pressure stations that continue to air the anti-Obama commercial.

It's the type of going-for-the-jugular approach to politics many Democrats complain that Kerry lacked and that Republicans exploit.

Obama's target is an ad by the conservative American Issues Project, a nonprofit group that questions Obama's ties to Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground organization that took credit for a series of bombings, including nonfatal explosions at the Pentagon and U.S. Capitol four decades ago.

The lone financier of the anti-Obama ad, Texas billionaire Harold Simmons, was also one of the main funders of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth who targeted Kerry. Simmons, a McCain fundraiser, contributed nearly $2.9 million to the American Issues Project, according to documents filed by the group with the Federal Election Commission.

Fox News and CNN have declined to air the anti-Obama ad. But by Monday afternoon, the ad had run about 150 times in local markets in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia and Michigan, according to Evan Tracey, head of TNS Media Intelligence/Campaign Media Analysis Group, an ad tracking firm.

Obama spokesman Tommy Vietor said Obama supporters have inundated stations that are airing the ad, many of them owned by Sinclair Communications, with 93,000 e-mails. He called the ad false, despicable and outrageous.

"Other stations that follow Sinclair's lead should expect a similar response from people who don't want the political discourse cheapened with these false, negative attacks," Vietor said.

Sinclair offices were closed late Monday and officials there could not be immediately contacted.

"It seems they protest a bit too much," American Issues Project spokesman Christian Pinkston said. "They're going all of these routes—through threats, intimation—to try to thwart the First Amendment here because they don't have an argument on merit."

Ayers is now a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He and Obama live in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood and served together on the board of the Woods Fund, a Chicago-based charity that develops community groups to help the poor. Obama left the board in December 2002.

Obama also was the first chairman of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a school reform group of which Ayers was a founder. Ayers also held a meet-the-candidate event at his home for Obama when Obama first ran for office in the mid-1990s.

Obama has denounced Ayers' past activities.

"Barack Obama is friends with Ayers, defending him as, quote, 'Respectable' and 'Mainstream,'" the group's ad states. "Obama's political career was launched in Ayers' home. And the two served together on a left-wing board. Why would Barack Obama be friends with someone who bombed the Capitol and is proud of it? Do you know enough to elect Barack Obama?"

In a letter to station managers, Obama campaign lawyer Robert Bauer wrote: "Your station is committed to operating in the public interest, an objective that cannot be satisfied by accepting for compensation material of such malicious falsity."

Bauer also wrote to Deputy Assistant Attorney General John C. Keeney, noting that the ad is a "knowing and willful attempt to evade the strictures of federal election law."

The campaign's aggressive tactics could draw more attention to a subject the campaign wants to go away. On Tuesday, the University of Illinois at Chicago will make available records of Obama's service on the board of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. The group was set up to improve the city's schools. The documents could shed further light on whether Obama and Ayers had a relationship.

The American Issues Project is a 501(c)4 nonprofit corporation. It is permitted by law to air a political ad provided that the majority of its spending is nonpolitical. It cannot accept money from corporations and it must identify the donors that finance its ads in reports to the Federal Election Commission. Pinkston said the group has set aside money to carry out non-election related work to meet the legal requirements. It filed a report identifying Simmons as its sole donor for the ad last week.

In the Obama campaign's own response ad, an announcer states: "With all our problems, why is John McCain talking about the 60s, trying to link Barack Obama to radical Bill Ayers. McCain knows Obama denounced Ayers' crimes, committed when Obama was just 8 years old."

The McCain campaign cannot coordinate efforts with outside groups. But the campaign took advantage of being the target of the response ad.

"The fact that Barack Obama chose to launch his political career at the home of an unrepentant terrorist raises more questions about Senator Obama's judgment than any TV ad ever could," said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers.

"Above My Pay Grade" Doesn't Cut it for the President of the United States, Obama.

So, our two main candidates for President got together in the same place, Rick Warren (he of The Purpose Driven Life fame) got them at his church to answer the same questions, but not at the same time. Obama went first, and this was his response to the question of when life begins and when a baby should get human rights...

"Whether you're looking at it from a theological perspective or a scientific perspective, answering that question with specificity... is above my pay grade."

What?! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?! You know what that answer means to me? I'll tell you, when I hear that answer, this is what I hear in my brain, "Um... yea. I'm am an advocate of total abortion. All abortions all the time. But... I'm also terrified of this evangelical crowd and I don't want to get booed off the stage. So... I'm going to give a completely bull crap answer."

This is exactly what I hate about this campaign, these two candidates sometimes seem like they will say anything to get elected. But this is silly. We all know where you stand Mr. Obama. Your pro-abortion. So just say it. Say you don't think human rights come into affect until after the baby is born. Say whatever you want. But don't say that its "above your pay grade." Your running to be President of the United States, sir, you should be able to explain where you stand on issues and you should have the intestinal fortitude to tell us honestly.

Is this the Apocalypse? Paris Hilton has a better enery plan than Nancy Pelosi?!

See more funny videos at Funny or Die

Someone, please tell me if Doomsday arrived much earlier than I thought it would. How does Paris Hilton... or at least, whoever wrote this video for her (maybe it was her, I don't know) have a better energy policy than Nancy Pelosi, whose only energy policy is "NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

I'm sure the major media is going to somehow say Paris is slighting McCain. But I don't think so. Its just a fun video, much like I think McCain thought his was. Besides, the video mostly agrees with McCain's policies... and maybe Obama's NEW policies. But Pelosi's policies... those have GOT to GO.

I'm Patrick, and I approved this message, because its totally hot.

The Revolution Will NOT be Televised...

"When the Revolution comes..."

So, it seems some Republicans in the House of Representatives finally grew some backbone. They were scheduled to go on vacation, but seizing on the high gas prices and the need for a new energy policy with more oil drilling, more coal, more nuclear and other measures... they decided they wanted to work through the break to discuss it. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi decided that since she is a hard core leftist and she doesn't agree with any of that... that not only was the House going on vacation anyway, but that she was going to personally order the cameras and lights in the House turned off. Wow. Is this the new, open, democracy that Pelosi promised when she came into office.

The Republican Revolution is supposed to continue today. Obama now is giving a speech saying he would agree with new oil drilling, more coal, and more nuclear... but is also proposing hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending to create "green" technology and Obama is also trashing the oil companies and somehow blaming them for our energy infrastructure being old. But... at least he moved a little on this oil, coal, nuclear issues (at least for today).

The Republicans need to keep hammering this and hammering this, and hammering it. Oh my God. Hold on. Obama just said we can find every available source of oil in this country and it would only be enough for a few years. What is he talking about?! There is enough oil in the world for hundreds of years. This is the kinda stuff Obama says that makes him look like an idiot. He wants to tax the oil companies to pay for hundreds of billions of dollars in new spending. The federal government already makes billions off of the sale of oil through taxes already. He has proposed using oil money for about 15 different things. New schools, a tax refund, new green technology, new roads, new cars... it can't possibly pay for all of that stuff. And not only that, but how are new taxes going to decrease gas prices? And where do oil companies get their money from anyway? US! So who is really going to be paying these new taxes? US. This is just government populism at its worst.

Anyway, the Republicans need to hammer this. They need to make this part of the national election so they can tie the Presidential election to the Congressional elections. This is a losing issue for the Democrats in Congress. Republicans had better NOT lose their testicular fortitude on this one.

Can this Man Speak English???

Good LORD! This is insane. The media, the Democrat Party, and the Obama campaign has held up this man, Obama as being one of the greatest speakers we've seen in recent American history. The man can give a good speech. The speeches don't really say anything, but they sound fine and he gets through them just fine.

But Obama can seemingly barely speak English when he is giving a press conference. This is silly. For all the bashing that President Bush has taken in the last 8 years regarding his speeches and his mannerisms during press conferences... Obama makes Bush look good.

I've tried to give him the benefit of the doubt. When I saw him barely being able to answer questions during debates in the primaries without stuttering over himself... I just assumed he was still getting use to the spotlight. But his stuttering and his "uhs" and his "ands" and his contradicting himself within a single answer continued throughout the primaries and has continued into the summer.

During a press conference on his European trip I saw him stutter and stutter and continue to stutter his way through a press conference. He complained when he was asked two part questions, he lectured the media on how they were to ask him questions; the whole thing was embarresing. Since when does the President get to lecture to the press how many parts are in a question they ask him. If Bush acted like that, the Press would laugh at him. But somehow with Obama, its OK.

Now I'm watching a press conference with Obama and the President of France, Sarkozy and he continues to stutter and "uh" and "and". He was asked a simple question about if he has learned anything or changed his mind about anything since being on this trip and he could barely put an answer together that I could have given for him. As soon as the question was asked, I in fact did answer for him. "NO" He hasn't learner anything, he hasn't changed his mind about anything. He still thinks he was right about being opposed to the surge, even though it worked. It took him forever to basically say what I said for him. NO, he hasn't changed his mind.

Obama is the New Messiah, why should he have to change his mind.

Obama "refines" his position on issues, then blames the media for calling him on it...

On Thursday, July 3rd Obama made a statement that in the future, after visiting Iraq and talking to the generals on the ground that he may "refine" his position in Iraq. Fine. I personally don't have a problem with that statement. Except to say that maybe he should go visit Iraq now since he never has and he's been destroying our efforts there for years. But I digress...

The Left Wing though; Iraq is THE issue. We have to get out NOW. That is what Obama has been running on. That was the primary difference between him and the other candidates. He never voted for it, he never supported it, and he advocated getting out immediately. Then he makes these comments about how his position may be refined. So, the media starts talking about it and people stop freaking out and Obama has to hold another press conference on the same day to clarify his remarks.

So, he reiterated his position of removing troops within sixteen months. But then he went out there and blamed the media for analyzing every single word he says. Excuse me sir, but you have thrown yourself out there to run for the Presidency. Everything the President says is analyzed. This is one gigantic job interview your in now and everything you say in an interview is heard and talked about seriously. You have held yourself out there as the greatest communicator in a generation, so don't blame the media for not letting you get away with clearly trying to change from a major position that you ran on.

The truth is Obama, we know that there's a better than even chance that you will NOT remove the troops that fast and you know it too. But, you are terrified of letting the cooky left figure that out because that is the primary thing you ran on. So why don't you show some back bone, stick to your lie, and not blame the media when they call you on altering your positions during this general election. They already let you get away with altering your position on gun control, NAFTA, and abortion. But they are NOT going to let you get away with moving on Iraq. Not until you get elected at least.

This Just In: Freedom Does Reign in America!

Yes, its true. I was feeling kinda tense about it for a good half hour or so while I was listening to the radio on the way home, but the Supreme Court managed to do something right. In its hearing of the Washington D.C. Gun Ban, it upheld the rights of individuals to own guns in a 5-4 decision.
I haven't read the decision yet because it literally just came out. But a 5-4 decision? C'mon, this should have been 9-0 or at least 8-1. The 2nd Amendment specifically talks about the rights of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms. Its going to be very interesting to see how this plays out in D.C. as a city... and inside the beltway with the politicians in Congress and the two Presidential Candidates.

I'm sure there are going to be stories in the coming weeks and months of D.C. residents buying loads of guns. Ah.... freedom smells good in the morning.

President Bush Endorses Drilling

Finally, someone in the Republican Party is having the courage to stand up and endorse drilling for more oil in this country. Finally, a leader is going to stand up against all this environmentalist, Democrat Party nonsense that drilling for oil is not going to make gas cheaper.

I pray, I really do that President Bush has the testicular fortitude to stick this out and to continue to advocate this until the end of his term. There are going to be bullets coming from everywhere about this. Environmentalists are going to say thats its bad for the world if we drill, despite the fact that China, thats right, CHINA is drilling 60 miles off our shores. They are going to say that we won't get any of this oil for 10 years, which is a silly statement. They are going to say we need to invest in alternative sources of energy. Fine.

This country can drill for oil cleaner and more efficiently that any other country, so why should the burden be on China and OPEC and the rest. Why should China be drilling for more oil off our shores, but not us? So what if it takes a few years to bring the oil to market. Someone has to do it. If the worldwide supplies of oil remain stagnant while the worldwide thirst for oil skyrockets, the prices are going to continually go up and up and up. We need to invest in alternative forms of energy, fine, go do it. If there's a company out there who thinks they can make money by selling hydrogen powered cars, fine. Do it. If there's a company who thinks they can make money with wind farms to generate electricity. Fine, go do it. That's what America is all about. But lets not kid ourselves into thinking that we are not going to be using oil, because we are. Oil is going to be used for decades and decades and decades, even if there are alternatives because the alternatives alone are not going to be able to solve the problem. If we covered the entire country with corn farms we would not be able to produce enough ethanol to power all the cars in this country, so don't tell me that alternatives are the only thing we need to focus on. Especially since cars are not the only thing we have that use oil for fuel.

Will McCain capitalize on Obama's liberalism?... No,

If we had anyone in this race who could even remotely be called a conservative, I think this race could be very different. Maybe even a slam dunk for the republicans. But John McCain is focusing on being a maverick republican and an independant.

I would love for someone to find for me an example of when a member of a party won the presidency by actively throwing his party under the bus, trashing the base of the party and by trashing President Bush every chance he gets. Not only that, but he does so using liberal and democratic party talking points.

What is McCain thinking? Does he think that by running against the republican party he can avoid the "Bush's 3rd Term" tag? Well he can't. So he better stop acting like trashing Bush is the way to win as a Republican Party candidate. I've got news for McCain: I would rather vote for President Bush again that vote for McCain. I truely believe that if Bush had been allowed to run again he would have beaten McCain in the primaries. I also have a slightly insane belief that President Bush could beat Obama.

McCain needs to stop trashing President Bush over the economy, Hurricane Katrina, and energy policy. President Bush may have low approval numbers, but he is not hated. Not in the Republican party anyway; if McCain wants to have any chance of winning he better stop trashing Republicans, conservatives and President Bush every chance he gets and start focusing on Obama.

You know, I too can be a maverick Republican. I don't have to vote for McCain just because I happen to be a Republican. We can all be maverick Republicans Mr. McCain, maybe then you'll see what its like to be abandoned by people who were ostensibly on your side.

Obama is a 1960's liberal, will McCain capitalize?.... lets face it, probably not.

Barack Obama is a huge, huge, ultra liberal/populist. He wants to increase taxes, increase spending, and drastically increase the role of government in the lives of everyday people. If we only had a true conservative... or even a moderate conservative running against him who could capitalize on how liberal Obama is..., but we don't. We have McCain, who is basically Obama-lite.

The last few days Obama and McCain have been taking shots at each other and linking each other to past presidents. Obama wants to characterize McCain as being the 3rd Bush Term, and so McCain has decided to push back by calling him Jimmy Carter's 2nd Term. Hmm... lets discuss shall we?

Barack Obama:

"We were promised a fiscal conservative, and instead we got the most fiscally irresponsible administration in history." - Barack Obama in a speech on the economy yesterday.

Oh. My. God. Is a democrat actually complaining about fiscal responsibility? Part of this is the old Democratic Party saw that there was a five trillion dollar surplus at the end of the Clinton Administration that has now gone up in smoke. C'mon Mr. Obama. That surplus was on paper only, projected out for 20 years in the future and assuming huge economic growth each year with no down turns in the economy. Please. But your right, Bush has been fiscally irresponsible. We started a whole new entitlement program with Medicaid Part D and we drastically increased spending across the board.

But is the Democratic Party really one to complain? Especially Barack Obama. This is a party that is ready to pay for everything for everyone. How many trillions is universal healthcare going to cost? How many trillions and how many new powerful agencies will have to be created for all this climate change and health care and everything else? Haven't the other liberal gold standards of Social Security and Medicare already put this country 60 trillion dollars in debt? Oh, thats right, they have.

"That’s why I’ve called for another round of fiscal stimulus, an immediate $50 billion to help those who’ve been hit hardest by this economic downturn"

Wow, just a few paragraphs after talking about fiscal responsibility this guy decides to take credit for the stimulus package and then calls for another one. Oh goody, another loan to ourselves. All these politicians act like they are just giving us money out of the goodness of their hearts, as if they someone had to work for the money. Its our money you jerk! Money that we basically have to pay back to the government next year and the year after. And for those of us who are very well employed, we are basically loaning our fellow citizens money, so why are you acting like your so great for supporting it?

"I’ve called for the immediate creation of a $10 billion Foreclosure Prevention Fund to provide direct relief to victims of the housing crisis. We’ll also help those who are facing foreclosure refinance their mortgages so they can stay in their homes at rates they can afford."

Wow, another spending proposal. How 'bout that huh? Now he wants the government to save people from lost their mortgage. This is just so wrong. A lot of people were speculating in the market and got caught. A lot of people were basically renters because they were paying interest only loans and didn't even have equity in the house. Some people bought way too much house that they couldn't have afforded. I've been saving for a house for years. I could have done something dumb like a lot of these people, but I'm patient and I've been waiting. Waiting for prices to drop like they are right now as people sell their homes. But now, this Senator wants to take my tax money and actually prevent the market system from working. He's going to take my money and those of other responsible people and basically use it to make it harder for us to get a house again by keeping prices high and ensuring that people stay in homes they probably should never have bought.

"We will give every American the chance to get the same kind of health care that Members of Congress give themselves"

Good lord. How many trillions of dollars is that going to cost. We've already bankrupted our children and grandchildren. I guess Obama wants to bankrupt a few more generations down the line.

"I’ll make oil companies like Exxon pay a tax on their windfall profits,"

Oh. Okay. So, thanks for raising our costs Obama. This will only make oil companies produce less oil domestically, decreasing our supply and companies of any type always pass on their taxes to the consumers because... ahem, we are the only place they get money from.

"We will not privatize Social Security, we will not raise the retirement age, and we will save Social Security for future generations by asking the wealthiest Americans to pay their fair share."

Good grief. What country has Obama been living in? The top 50% of wage earners pay 96% of the federal taxes. Maybe we should stop demonizing the rich. Has Obama not heard that Social Security as it is currently structured is trillions of dollars in the whole? What is so wrong with us keeping our own money and investing it or spending it as we see fit. Especially since the supposed Social Security Trust Fund has been raided for decades and all of the money is basically gone.

"every single proposal that I’ve made in this campaign is paid for – because I believe in pay-as-you-go" Yes. we'll pay as he goes and does whatever he wants in the name of liberalism.
I feel thats enough for now. I'll talk about McCain tomorrow...

Obama in His Own Words

OBAMA: John McCain has spent a lot of time talking about trips to Iraq in the last few weeks, but maybe if he spent some time taking trips to the cities and towns that have been hardest hit by this economy cities in Michigan and Ohio and right here in Minnesota -- he'd understand the kind of change that people are looking for.

What? What does that even mean? So... are we supposed to believe that John McCain doesn't know that there are people suffering around the world? Are we supposed to believe that he doesn't understand that the economy is in a slump? What? Your running for President Sir, you've been railing against the surge since it was first proposed. And now its working, even Nancy Pelosi is admitting, albeit with her own spin, that the surge is working... And yet, you refuse to admit that and haven't visited the troops that your railing against.

OBAMA: Maybe if you went to Iowa and let the student who works the night shift after a full day of class and still can't pay the medical bills for a sister who's ill, he'd understand she can't afford four more years of a health care plan that only takes care of the healthy and the wealthy.

What? I think conservatives... and to a lesser extent, John McCain, are aware that some people struggle to afford their medical bills. That doesn't mean we think the federal government, the same government that can't do anything right... should be running the healthcare industry. We think that increased economic freedom will allow prices to come down and allow more people to afford their bills.
What country has he been living in anyway? What is Medicare, what is Medicaid, what is the SCHIP program? Are these not programs to help the poor pay their medical bills. This is insulting, sir. The truth is the country is already going bankrupt trying to fund just these programs and yet the liberals want to do even more to bankrupt our grandchildren. Our fear sir, is that you seem hell bent on sacrificing our health care system at the alter of liberalism.

OBAMA: Maybe -- maybe if John McCain went to Pennsylvania and he met the man who lost his job but can't even afford the gas to drive around and look for a new one, he'd understand we can't afford four more years of our addiction to oil from dictators.

Hello!? Can we drill our own oil? No, not according to the liberals! Can we build new refineries? NO! Can we build new power plants? NO. Excuse me Senator, but who are you to complain about high gas prices when you and your party have done everything in their power to stop this country from getting more energy?

OBAMA: And maybe if John McCain spent some time in the schools of South Carolina or St. Paul, Minnesota -- or where he spoke tonight in New Orleans, Louisiana -- he'd understand that we can't afford to leave the money behind for No Child Left Behind. And maybe if Obama was honest with himself he would admit that we spend TONS of money on and in schools. The problem is that schools have gotten away from the fundamentals. Instead of teaching kids to read, write, and do math we now teach them about sex, global warming, conflict resolution, sociology, and various other liberal tenants that dilute the basics of school.

Obama vs. McCain....is McCain ready?

John McCain has made a career of being a "maverick" Republican and an "independent". This has usually meant drastically differing from republicans and conservatives and throwing them under the bus. He's had some success, and the media has lavished him with praise for being willing to work with the "other side."

I hope he's ready for what's about to come. This is the moment that conservative pundits have been predicting for months now. They've been saying that when there is finally a Democratic Party nominee, the gloves are going to come off. They might preface their comments about McCain with acknowledging his war record... but they will quickly transition into DESTROYING him. I don't think McCain has any idea what is about to hit him from Obama, the Democratic Party, and the media. Very soon now, he is going to move from being a "reasonable, independant" into a hateful, bigoted, racist, sexist, homophobe ultra partisan hack. He will be portrayed as evil and stupid, old and feeble.

McCain has gotten caught up in the idea of running an honorable campaign. If he doesn't figure out soon that the opposition is not going to treat him honerably then he is going to get creamed. They are going to turn on him so quick his head is going to spin, and I hope he's ready.

Obama-Caucus4Priorities

Obama wants to disarm and leave the US vulnerable...

Words from the Next President of the United States:

"OBAMA: As president, I will end misguided defense policies and stand with Caucus for Priorities in fighting special interests in Washington. First, I'll stop spending $9 billion a month in Iraq. I'm the only major candidate who opposed this war from the beginning -- and as president, I will end it. Second, I will cut tens of billions of dollars in wasteful spending. I will cut investments in unproven missile defense systems. I will not weaponize space. I will slow our development of future combat systems, and I will institute an independent defense priorities board to ensure that the Quadrennial Defense Review is not used to justify unnecessary spending. Third, I will set a goal of a world without nuclear weapons. To seek that goal, I will not develop new nuclear weapons; I will seek a global ban on the production of fissile material, and I will negotiate with Russia to take our ICBMs off hair-trigger alert and to achieve deep cuts in our nuclear arsenals. You know where I stand."

Are you kidding me? This is his plan for national security? Cutting spending on new weapons? You mean, like ones that will kill the enemy while protecting our soldiers and civilians? Hmmm... interesting. Cutting the funding and progress that has been made in missile defense? What do liberals have against missile defense? Its starting to work for crying out loud and they want to cut it? Whats wrong with a defensive weapon? What if Obama's buddy, the President of Iran, decides to launch a missile at us in ten years? Won't it be best for everyone if we can... shoot it down? No Nuclear weapons... is he kidding? Does he really think we're going to be able to tell the rest of the world to just get rid of all theirs? C'mon. No new weapons. So the only ones we'll have are the older, less accurate, really destructive ones as opposed to newew, more accurate, and less likely to cause total annihilation?

If we get rid of ours, whats to stop somebody else from attacking us with one? You can't get rid of it, the science to make these things is out there. Even if he did get rid of all of ours, what does he have against a missile defense shield then?

Yes, Obama... we do know where you stand.

Obama quits his church...

For the last two or three months, Obama has face questions about his home church, Trinity United. His former pastor said some terrible things. At first, Obama said he had never heard these types of things before and that he still supported Rev. Wright. Some people in the media defended him to, claiming the things he had been saying were taken out of context.

Then, his pastor went in front of the National Press Club and took questions from the media... and pretty much repeated and expanded on the controversial comments. So, Obama had to denounce the Rev. Wright. Questions persisted about what he really heard during his 20 year time at the church, but the official line was that he had never heard anything like this.

Now, last week a guest pastor said more controversial things and openly blasted Hillary Clinton in church. What is the deal? Why would they do this, don't they know their man Obama is trying to be president here? Why are they blasting Clinton in church on Sunday at all, nevermind that they are hurting Obama.

So, now Obama has resigned his membership from Trinity United.
But, again, the question is what really went on at this church while he was there. I mean, if this church has no problem, and in fact praises extreme comments on Sunday. So are we really supposed to believe that Obama didn't hear any of this stuff while he went there.

My prediction is that the next thing we hear from the Obama camp about this is that he really didn't go to church all that often and he only joined the church for political connections because its a "super" church and he was trying to quickly put roots into the Chicago community so he could start his political career. This issue is not going away, even now that he's resigned.

Wal-Mart, yay Capitalism...!

Yes, its true. In these desperate times of tumult, economic turmoil, rising gas prices, famine, war and natural disasters, Wal-Mart is working to save us all money... while making plenty for itself. Here's how:

Shrink the goods. Ever wonder why that cereal box is only two-thirds full? Foodmakers love big boxes because they serve as billboards on store shelves. Wal-Mart has been working to change that by promising suppliers that their shelf space won't shrink even if their boxes do. As a result, some of its vendors have reengineered their packaging. General Mills' (GIS, Fortune 500) Hamburger Helper is now made with denser pasta shapes, allowing the same amount of food to fit into a 20% smaller box at the same price. The change has saved 890,000 pounds of paper fiber and eliminated 500 trucks from the road, giving General Mills a cushion to absorb some of the rising costs.

Cut out the middleman. Wal-Mart typically buys its brand-name coffee from a supplier, which buys from a cooperative of growers, which works with a roaster - which means "there are a whole bunch of people muddled in the middle," says Wal-Mart spokeswoman Tara Raddohl. In April the chain began buying directly from a cooperative of Brazilian coffee farmers for its Sam's Choice brand, cutting three or four steps out of the supply chain.

Go locovore. Wal-Mart has been going green, but not entirely for the reasons you might think. By sourcing more produce locally - it now sells Wisconsin-grown yellow corn in 56 stores in or near Wisconsin - it is able to cut shipping costs. "We are looking at how to reduce the number of miles our suppliers' trucks travel," says Kohn. Marc Turner, whose Bushwick Potato Co. supplies Wal-Mart stores in the Northeast, says the cost of shipping one truck of spuds from his farm in Maine to local Wal-Mart stores costs less than $1,000, compared with several thousand dollars for a big rig from Idaho. Last year his shipments to Wal-Mart grew 13%.

How about that huh? The evil Wal-Mart, the scourge of the Left, is saving people money by increasing effeciency and cutting costs. Wow, maybe the capitalist marker really does work. Who'da thunk it?

Maxine Waters Reveals the Liberals True Feelings

Our wonderful Congress spent part of last week grilling oil executives about why gas is so expensive. During their appearance on May 22nd in front of a committee of the House of Representatives, Big Liberal Maxine Waters (who is a big supporter of Obama) had this to say:

WATERS: And guess what this liberal would be all about? This liberal would be all about socialize -- uh, uh, would be about basically taking over and the government running all of your companies.
(Click the Link for the Video)
How 'bout that huh? She just threw it out there. How is this not a serious issue in America today. A US Congresswoman openly threatening a company executive to lower their prices or face nationalization by the government! This is whats really behind the problem with the federal government and congress. They think that they can run everything, even though many of them have not had a productive job in their entire life.

Health Care too expensive? Don't worry, the government can run it for you with a program designed by Congress! What, your worried because we've never been run anything successfully, much less things involving doctors and surgery and everything else? Oh, don't worry. Gas skyrocketing? We'll take care of it. Nevermind that none of us would know how to get a single drop of oil out of the ground if our lives depended on it and we have NO idea how the world market for oil works. I mean the federal government is crazy if they think they can do all this. And they are trying to do soooo much more under the umbrella of climate change.

Maxine Waters should be ashamed of herself. Do we not believe in private property anymore in this country? Those oil companies have MILLIONS of shareholders, myself included, she's just going to take our property like that? Is her middle name Hugo Chavez?

This is what liberals want, CONTROL. The government should control everything in the liberals eyes. This is why conservatives have got to stick together and make our voices heard. Federalism and limited government have got to be restored in this country before its too late.

The NY Times Slimes the President on Memorial Day

Mr. Bush and the G.I. Bill

President Bush opposes a new G.I. Bill of Rights. He worries that if the traditional path to college for service members since World War II is improved and expanded for the post-9/11 generation, too many people will take it. He is wrong, but at least he is consistent. Having saddled the military with a botched, unwinnable war, having squandered soldiers’ lives and failed them in so many ways, the commander in chief now resists giving the troops a chance at better futures out of uniform. He does this on the ground that the bill is too generous and may discourage re-enlistment, further weakening the military he has done so much to break.

Now, having read that you might be ready to throw up. This editorial by the NY Times appeared yesterday, Memorial Day, trying to destroy President Bush for not supporting a new GI Bill. Well guess what boys and girls, the President DOES support a new GI Bill, just not this specific one.

This press release from the Admin clearly shows Pres. Bush does support a new GI Bill that address specific concerns veterans and the Defense Department have, namely that college benefits can be transfered to other family members from GI's who don't use them. So, in the New York Times eyes, that makes Pres. Bush anti-GI hating cretin. What a joke.

"The President specifically supports the GI Bill legislation expansion proposed by Senators Graham, Burr, and McCain because it allows for the transferability of education benefits and calibrates an increase in education benefits to time in the service."

This is whey people don't like the Times and why their readership is falling every year.

Someone... could get Assasinated...

Is it possible for the presidential candidates to help themselves at all? John McCain is running around trying to make everyone think he is a Democrat, all the while there are Republicans who are fighting very hard within themselves to justify voting for him. Hillary Clinton is fighting calls for her to drop out every single day, especially from the punks over at MSNBC, and yet she is incapable of helping herself as evidenced by this comment last Friday:

"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. You know I just, I don't understand it," she said, dismissing the idea of abandoning the race."

Hillary, you've got to be kidding. Women all over the country are trying to carry your water and making arguments every day about why you should stay in the race and how you can still win. So you go and say THIS?! C'mon, sometimes Hill, you've got to let other people help you and stop sabotaging yourself.

Now, apparently she has said this before and it didn't warrant a whole lot of notice. But somebody, somewhere had to recognize that this would catch fire at some point. When campaigns go on and on forever like this, the media is always looking for a new angle. So of course they are going to pick up on something they may not have paid attention to before. You know, just like that whole Rev. Wright thing? That was out there for a long time, but it didn't catch fire until March.

The New York Daily News had this to say about Hillary's comments:
this incident has shown Americans, “an X-ray of a very dark soul.” Please. Hello, we're talking about Hillary Clinton here. You know, of Clinton Inc? These people have always been ruthless, all you main stream media types just didn't care about it back then because it was directed at conservatives and Republicans.

Last Boredom in Paris...

So, we rented Last Tango in Paris the other night starring Marlon Brando. I had heard of it, but really didn't know what it was about. So, it came in the mail and we noticed that it was... um hello... rated NC-17. So, that did interest me a little.... and scared me. I mean, its got Marlon Brando in it... and he's old, and its rated NC-17? Can this be good? It recieved an 81% rating on Rottentomatoes.com... so it can't be bad, can it?

So we watched it. And it was easily one of the worst movies I have ever seen. It was boring, thats right, I said it, boring. It wasn't even sexy, it was just bizarre. Brando is not bad, but the movie is. Bad, bad, very very bad.

So please, if you ever are in desperate need of a movie to watch and your in Blockbuster and see this thing sitting on the shelf... just keep walking. Better yet... run. Just leave the store and don't come back until any urge you had of renting that movie is out of your system. Its that bad.

When will John McCain learn to shut his MOUTH?

John McCain wants to throw conservatives and Republicans under the bus again on immigration reform.

Twice in the not too distant past the United States Senate attempted a massive immigration "reform." We all know what the story was. Congress wanted to legalize the 20 to 25 million illegal immigrants that have come here since the 1980's. Congress was supposedly going to make them pay fines of $5,000 and make them travel back to their home countries and also prove they had been working here for a certain number of years. It was sooo complicated, we all knew what it meant. It meant they would all be granted legal status and that would be it. How could we possible enforce rules about returning to a home country and making them pay $5,000 when the Congress was at the same time saying that it was impossible to know who these people were, and also they were destitute.

So, the American people said no, twice. Two different times they tried to get this thing through, but the American people flooded Congress with calls and letters. They knew, they had been told all this stuff about "reform" twice before. In 1980's with a supposedly one time only amnesty and in the 1960's with a reform led by Ted Kennedy.

Both times it was pushed back recently it had been spear headed by John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee. He wasn't exactly kind to us during the debate. As always, he threw us under the bus by basically saying that we were mean, racist, and impractical. During the debates for the Republican nomination, he said he had seen the light and knew what the American people wanted. So, many of us have tried very hard to find a way to support him. We conservatives are having arguments within ourselves about how we can cross the aisle and support John McCain. His problem is he keeps opening his mouth, making him sound more and more everyday like a Democrat and that he hasn't learned his lesson at all.

Case in Point: his recent remarks on immigration. “By the way, I think the fence is least effective,” he told executives in Milwaukee, according to a recent Vanity Fair profile. “But I’ll build the goddamned fence if they want it.” And this at a recent event with Arnuld, "We need a temporary agriculture (worker) program." "But we must enact comprehensive immigration reform."

Mr. McCain, you've got to be kidding me. How many times do we have to do this? How many times is Congress going to bring this up only to have the American people stop you? They keep talking about how we can't do this piecemeal. Why not? Why can't we secure the borders first, making it so that there aren't 50,000 people crossing the border every month; and then deal with the ones that are here. If we deal with everyone here first, the reality is that will be such a massive undertaking that they won't ever secure the border and will have to go through this again in another 20 years. Just like in in the 60's, 80's and now 2008.

Secure the border and enforce current law, the rest will take care of itself.

Change You Can Believe In.... my butt

Words from the next President of the United States:

Obama: "We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK."

Excuse me? This is the change we're supposed to believe in? This guy is the one we've been waiting for? This is America, the land of the free, you know, free to eat and drive and heat your own home. This all comes from the faulty idea that if I buy a steak, someone somewhere is starving because of it. No sir, somebody raised that animal specifically because they knew someone like me would buy it. If they didn't think I'd buy it, they wouldn't have raised it. I didn't take food out of anyones mouth. People aren't starving in South Africa or China because I eat plenty of chicken here in America. They are starving because their governments were/are corrupt and have been for decades and have not allowed their people the kind of freedom we have here in America. No sir, me heating my apartment here does not take heat from some poor couple in Russia. The power plant that heats my house has no affect on them and would not have been built unless they thought people like me would pay for the electricity. If some poor couple in Russia doesn't have any heat because they live in third world conditions or they are too poor to afford their electricity that is because of their over bearing government that tried to rule everything about their economy, just like obama, mccain and clinton want to do.

Just wait, they might couch all the crap in "getting even" with big corporations, but hold onto your wallets because "getting even" is going to cost all of us a ton of money. You'll notice he didn't even try to pretend like he was talking about Big Corporations, he was talking about you and me. This government has its eyes set on trying to control everything we do. Well, I say no. When the government controls everything and regulates everything to death, then who do we turn to? Our all powerful government will have already "saved" us from Big Corporations, but where will we turn to save us from the feds?
